5 Ways To Detox Your Body

Let's talk Detox!
Just as anything else you can imagine needs to be cleaned on a regular basis for it to remain functional, so does our human body. We consume such a wide variety of foods on a daily basis. From these foods that we eat, our body takes essential vitamins and nutrients and the rest is excreted out of the system. Now, from consuming all this variety of food, our body accumulates toxins over time. If these toxins build up inside our body over a period of time, it can - 

a. Lead one to get chronic diseases.  
b. Make it harder to lose weight.
c. Make a person feel sluggish and less energetic.

Having listed these ill effects, let's talk about ways of getting rid of them!

There are multiple products in the market these days that promise to detoxify our body. 
However, one should never rely on any such products as these are not a healthy way to detoxify our body. Infact, we are feeding our poor liver with even more toxins from the chemicals that are present in these products and we surely don't want to do that. 

So, how do we detoxify our body? 

Mother nature gives us plenty of ways to detoxify and give the body the refresh that it needs and also flush the toxins out of the body in a natural way. 
Let's see how we can get rid of these toxins naturally - 

1. INFUSED WATER -
The benefits of drinking water are endless. Infused water is that water in which fruits are infused in order to make it healthier and detoxifying.  Detox water/ Infused water is totally worth all the hype it is getting in the fitness industry these days because of the fact that it is extremely healthy and an excellent way to detox our body. Detox water is all organic since it's free of chemicals and is packed with essential vitamins and nutrients that help to nourish our body and keep us hydrated as well.

DIY Infused water recipe that I personally love to do -

In a big jug of water add some lemon slices and mint leaves. That's all!
Everytime you feel thirsty, drink this infused water and I promise you'll feel instantly refreshed and hydrated! 
Adding lemon slices/ juice helps with digestion, detoxifying and it also help with getting that extra boost of Vitamin C. 
Feel free to add strawberries, watermelon slices, kiwi or even cucumbers to your detox water recipe. 



2. TRUST SMOOTHIES - 


Smoothies are packed with nutrients and also help to get real fruits in our diet. The best part about making smoothies is that one can easily customize them according to their taste or the kind of boost that they're looking for. Spinach, mangoes, apples, bananas, honey, chia seeds and any other fruits can be added to the smoothie. Consuming smoothies is an instant way to -
a. Boost digestion.
b. Boost immune system.
c. Detoxify the body. 
d. Increase energy levels.
e. Stay hydrated. 

My DIY Smoothie recipe - 
Take 2 bananas, 1 mango and a cup of milk; blend all of these in a blender and then put it in a bowl, top it up with some dry fruits and nuts. I like to top it up with almonds, raisins, walnuts, dates and chia seeds.


3. SWITCH TO GREEN TEA -




Consider switching to green tea and avoid the consumption of coffee. Not only is green tea full of healthy anti oxidants, it is packed with detoxifying agents that cleanse our body from the inside. It helps to relax and detoxify our body naturally and is far better than a cup of coffee when talking about the health benefits. Green tea - 

a. Aids in weight loss
b. It is packed with anti oxidants
c. Detoxifies the body
d. It is good for the heart
e. Helps to get a clear skin

Pro Tip - Try Japanese Matcha Green Tea. I bet it tastes good and has a lot of many health benefits. 


4. CONSUME YOGHURT (A carrier of  Probiotics)

Yoghurt being a fermented food naturally contains lots of probiotics which help to strengthen the digestive tract. Probiotics increase good bacteria in the gut. Around 60-70 percent of your immune system lives in your gut so by improving your gut health with probiotics you also improve your health in general. This helps with detoxifying the body and keeping it healthy. 


5. GET MORE EXERCISE AND SWEAT IT OUT - 


Exercising not only helps with weight loss but is also a great way of getting rid of the toxins in our body. The toxins get purged out of the body through sweat when we exercise.
Exercising helps-
a. Improve digestive system.
b. Improve blood circulation.
c. Detoxifies our body through sweat.
d. Boosts mood and makes us feel better. 

Did you know? Exercising releases endorphins which make you feel happier and amazing!

Also, you must practise Yoga and Meditation in order to help relieve stress. Stress is toxic to our body and can lead to many health problems. Yoga poses help stimulate circulatory, digestive and lymphatic system that helps body get rid of toxins.
Therefore, consider exercising for a minimum of 30 minutes a day and do incorporate yoga poses and stretches and deep breathing exercises to stay fit and detoxify the body naturally. 


PRO TIPS IN GENERAL  -

1. Avoid certain foods such as dairy, sugar, alcohol, meat and caffeine
2. Eat foods rich in fiber and vitamins.
3. Eat mindfully by chewing each bite of food properly and slowly. 
4. Stop eating once you are full. 
5. Avoid eating foods that make you feel guilty and instead eat foods rich in nutrients.
